Perez Hilton, Sexual Predator?

Perez Goes Too Far?

Perez Hilton, the self-proclaimed king (read: queen) of the tabloid blogosphere, may be coming to a court near you thanks to his recent Twitter post containing a revealing up the skirt shot of pop star and legal MINOR, Miley Cyrus.

Just when it seemed like nothing could stop the controversial and often offensive gossip writer, Perez went and violated one of the most relentless Federal laws out there — Child Pornography.

Last week, it was reported by Time that Hilton’s Twitter account allegedly posted a photo of seventeen-year old Miley Cyrus getting out of a car wearing a dress and no underwear—a la Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. Cyrus, however, is still a minor and per Federal law (18 USC section 2252), the possession and/or distribution of such “lascivious” imagery can result in serious prison time.

Hilton has since removed the image from his Twitter feed but legally speaking, the damage is done. Should a Federal Prosecutor looking to make a name for himself/herself, decide to take on Perez—the tabloid writer may get hit by the almost draconian Federal Sentencing Guidelines for Child Pornographers—not to mention being forever labeled a Sexual Predator.
